Meeting Details:
Making the Most of Your Design Time .... 1/2 day [Morning Session]
Layout time is often one of the last things to be considered in the project cycle, so designers need to manage their time wisely in order to get the job done on time. This course will show ways to do that through many sides of the design process. We will discuss streamlining the input and output processes, fully utilizing the software including using macros and scripts; optimizing the design preparation and layout, and making the checking and saving processes more manageable.
Designing Complex Boards .... 1/2 day [Afternoon Session]
When beginning a complex board design, we are faced with a unique set of needs and questions. Where do I start the process? How do I organize the information on all those schematic pages? What is the best way for these parts and sections to fit together electronically? What is a good stackup for this particular board? How do I place everything and route it so that it all fits within the board outline and has good signal integrity and no EMI problems? This presentation will address these kinds of questions and more with some laws of physics, information about why some practices might work better than others, and lots of examples.
